As Utah’s housing crisis continues to grow, the Utah Housing Preservation Fund is stepping into 2025 with a renewed commitment to protecting and expanding affordable housing across the state. With rising housing costs and increasing displacement pressures, preservation remains one of the most effective solutions to ensuring long-term affordability. This year, we are setting ambitious but necessary goals:
1. Raise $30+ million in capital to expand our impact and acquire more at-risk affordable housing properties.
2. Add 200+ affordable housing units to our portfolio, preserving homes for low- and moderate-income Utahns who need them most.
These goals are more than just numbers—they represent real families, individuals, and communities who rely on stable, affordable housing to thrive. By leveraging innovative partnerships, mission-driven investments, and strategic acquisitions, we aim to ensure that more Utahns have access to safe, secure housing for years to come.
We aim to close out fundraising efforts so that we can focus on our mission: acquiring & preserving. If you are interested in partnering with us for CRA or PRI investments please reach out HERE.
The Path Forward
In 2024, we achieved major milestones, from surpassing 1,000 preserved units to securing key financial partnerships that strengthened our ability to protect Utah’s affordable housing stock. But with increasing development pressures and an evolving economic landscape, 2025 will require even greater collaboration. UHPF will continue working with banks, impact investors, municipalities, and community partners to deploy capital efficiently and protect naturally occurring affordable housing (NOAH) before it disappears.
